About the Role

Cluely is seeking a Customer Support Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and wants to play a meaningful role in shaping product direction through direct customer interaction. This is more than just a support position—it's an opportunity to serve as the crucial bridge between our customers and our product team, giving you real influence over how Cluely evolves to meet user needs.

In this role, you'll be responsible for managing our customer support inbox through Intercom, ensuring every customer inquiry receives a timely and thoughtful response. Your primary objective will be to achieve inbox zero each day by resolving customer issues efficiently—whether that means processing refunds through Stripe, providing helpful guidance, or escalating technical issues to our engineering team via Slack.

What You'll Do

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Managing Customer Communications: Monitor and respond to all incoming customer support tickets through Intercom during your shift, maintaining our commitment to responsive, helpful service
Problem Resolution: Assess each customer inquiry and determine the appropriate course of action—whether it's providing a solution directly, processing a refund, or escalating to engineering

About the Role
We work six days a week in-person in San Francisco, 10-12 hours a day.
You are expected to live within a block of the office (housing provided).

Compensation:

This role is right for you if you understand cinematography, lighting, directing, and everything in-between intricately, have a history of making movies or short films, and love everything content.
You must have a strong sense of humor. A large part of the interview process will be us determining if you are funny and capable of generating videos that make people laugh.
You must be a strong generalist who can make things happen. If you have an idea, you will often not have a production assistant to help you make it happen.

If you want to make a podcast, it'll be on you to create the scene, buy the props, set up the lighting, buy the microphones, and everything in between.
You must also be comfortable working 12 hours a day 6 days a week. This will likely be the most intense job of your life.

You will live a block away from the office and spend most, if not all, of your waking hours working with a young and energetic team.

About the Role

The entire codebase is strictly typed (no ts-ignore or anys). We use Bun, Elysia, and strictly typed routes.
You might be a good fit if you are:
- One of the best engineers in the world
- Strong fullstack engineer (React/Electron/Infra experience)
  - You should know how to efficiently fetch and cache data in a React application
  - You should know how to design and structure database schemas that optimize read and write performance
  - You should be comfortable deploying and scaling applications and be able to weigh pros and cons of different infra/devops solutions
